Following the success of its first edition, the second edition of the IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing for Emerging Markets (CCEM) was held at Bangalore, India between October 16th and October 18th, 2013. The conference focused on challenges and opportunities in cloud computing in emerging markets. The event brought together leaders in cloud computing from various walks of life such as academics, government, industry, etc from different parts of the globe. Some of the prominent leaders were Kris Gopalakrishnan, Vice-chairman, Infosys, Manish Israni, Vice President - IT Infrastructure, Vodafone India, Prof. S. Sadagopan, Director of IIIT, Bangalore among others.
The head of cloud practice at Neev Technologies attended the event on October 17th. Here is his account of the proceedings on the second day of the event:
There was a good deal of discussion about SaaS services crossing national boundaries and thereby the need for policies and governance to protect consumers from an SLA & privacy perspective.
The day also had presentations by the likes of Kris Gopalakrishnan (in pic).
