>Neev created a website viewable across desktops, tablets and mobile phones that enabled the client to create awareness about Australia’s National Broadband Network (NBN) and cablers who are authorized to implement NBN and to enable cablers, retailers and service providers to register on the site.
The website was built by the Australian telecommunications and home technology industry with contributions from a number of its stakeholders like the Cable Operators’ associations, suppliers, Government agencies, media agencies among others.
The National Broadband Network (NBN) is an Australian Government initiative to provide high-speed broadband access to all homes and businesses. NBN will roll out the network and sell wholesale services to service providers who in turn will offer retail services to end customers.
The Australian telecommunications and home technology industry required Neev to conceptualize, design, develop, test and launch a website. This website was required to provide comprehensive information to the visitors about NBN, provide information on retailers, service providers and cablers who can be approached for their NBN implementation queries and allow visitors to get in touch with cablers who are authorized to implement NBN in their neighborhood.
The website was also required to allow registration of retail service providers, retailers and cablers and enable them to be a part of the NBN implementation process. This required Neev to implement an automatic background verification system to verify the cablers who register on the website and a search feature that lets visitors search for authorized cablers in their neighborhood.
Neev was also required to create a responsive website design so that it is viewable across tablets and mobiles too.
Neev created the concept and designed the UI/UX for the website. Before the selection of the CMS, an evaluation was carried out to compare ModX with Wordpress and Drupal. The NFRs considered were performance and the ability to view across multiple devices.
For reliability, Neev linked the website to the NBN website that gave accurate information.
Neev also introduced a Google Maps plugin to map the NBN coverage across Australia with accurate status messages for each location.
To enable visitors to search for cablers, retailers and service providers who implement NBN in their neighborhood, Neev created a search engine that searched third party websites of Australian cabler associations that contained requisite information.
Neev enabled registration of retailers, service providers and cablers whereupon each registered user is allotted a username and password. Once the user logs in, he is provided with useful tools to create awareness about NBN. Once registered, the user’s details are also visible publicly to the visitors.
Neev created an automatic background verification system by capturing the registration number of each cabler who registers on the website and automatically search with this number on the search engines of the various Australian cabler associations to validate the cabler’s background.
To enable the website to be viewed across many devices, the website design was made responsive. The website was tested with live devices to ensure the responsive design feature.
